The Problem
QDO, an emerging omnichannel marketing platform, approached DMS Designs with a vision to create a brand identity and user interface that could bridge the gap between offline engagement and online discoverability for hyperlocal businesses. The founders wanted the brand to visually express discovery, location relevance, and real-time engagement. Beyond branding, the platform’s UI posed a complex challenge : it needed to cater to three distinct user groups: customers, merchants, and super-admins. Additionally, the customer module included dynamic gamification elements and loyalty features, demanding a deeply intuitive yet versatile design structure.
Our Solution
We crafted a unique Q-shaped logomark that cleverly incorporated a magnifying lens and a location pin - symbolizing search, locality, and discovery- all within a single emblem. The brand identity was designed to evoke both tech-forward functionality and the vibrant, real-world spectacle of street-level consumer engagement. For the UI/UX, we developed an intricate but highly structured prototype that mapped out all user journeys with precision. Despite the complexity resembling an air traffic control map in its interconnectedness, the design prioritized clarity, accessibility, and ease of navigation across all user modules. Each dashboard and interaction flow was rigorously tested to balance advanced functionality with a clean user experience.
The Result
The prototype received overwhelmingly positive feedback from sample groups of merchants and super-admins, who found the interface intuitive and efficient. Customers in the testing phase reported that redeeming and tracking reward points through the platform was seamless and enjoyable, especially with the gamification module. Most notably, the high-fidelity prototype and cohesive brand design played a pivotal role in helping QDO secure investor funding to expand into international markets - proving that strong branding and UX can power both engagement and growth.
